[29.08.06] VITE Farewells Team Leader of the PASEP

The PASEP program, the French counterpart of VASTEP, farewells its Team leader, Michel Daubelcour, on Thursday 29th August 2006.

Many teachers, students, and friends of the French Embassy in Port Vila, gave much credit to Michel and the PASEP program for the much improvement in terms of the French Teacher Training program at VITE. Michel will be missed, but much of what he has left behind will be constant reminder of the work success of his leadership through PASEP.

The PASEP program is the secondary component of teacher training at VITE. Many of the lecturers attached to this project for the past few years will have of course acquired immense skill and know-how related to their profession as lecturers in the secondary section of the institute. But also, because of this project, most of the lecturers at VITE now have a personal computer each at their desks to do their work. The 24-hour internet has also been a big improvement resource-wise, because teachers, as well as students, can do research on the world wide web, as well as connect high-tech via email to friends in-country as well as abroad.
Merci beaucoup, Michel.
